Professional Background
Sherrie Lee Williams is in her fifth year of practice and has been working with Leahy Lewin Lowing Sullivan Lawyers since September 2021. Prior to that Sherrie was a lawyer with Ashurst PNG.

Sherrie has assisted the Partners and lawyers in the area of commercial practice and commercial litigation.

Sherrie has experience in the following areas:

In commercial practice:

  • corporate service matters, i.e., incorporation and deregistration of overseas and companies, associations and other entities and assisting clients with general advice and compliance notifications under the Companies Act 1997 and Investment Promotion Act 1992
  • sale and acquisition of companies and business assets and advice on related issues and post completion matters
  • negotiation and settlement of contractual and commercial disputes
  • commercial property transactions, leasing and conveyancing and related advice on land issues and physical planning and zoning
  • assist with preparation of finance documents and registration and discharge of securities (mainly real property and personal property) for various corporate clients
  • assist with advice and related work on insolvency and corporate restructure
  • legal due diligence and related advice on construction projects
  • mining- advice and related work under the Bougainville Mining Act 2015
  • aviation - assist with advice and related work to various corporate clients in relation to aircraft leasing and compliance and registration requirements under Papua New Guinea Civil Aviation laws and
  • general advice on Papua New Guinea laws to various corporate clients and statutory bodies

In commercial litigation:

  • creditor demands and liquidation proceedings
  • claims relating to contractual and commercial and construction disputes
  • employment disputes. Calculating final entitlements for employees as well as other corporate and individual clients
  • assisting the Partners and lawyers with appeals and reviews in the National Court from a commercial perspective
